Agitated Scrap Surface Dryer (ASSD)
Proven process technologies for sustainable operations
Technip Agitated Scraped Surface Dryer (ASSD)—more generally known as an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) delivers powerful, energy-efficient drying for high-viscosity, high-solids, and heat-sensitive materials for Process Plant & efficient drying for compliance of ZLD Plant for Industrial Waste Water Application.
Operating Principle & Features
- Agitated Scraped Surface Dryer is a continuous, indirect heating drying system that uses a rotor with scraping blades to spread and agitate a material into a thin, uniform film on the inner surface of a heated jacketed vessel.
- Scrapper blades spreading & scrapping the dry solids on the shell side continuously with uniform RPM range between 150-250 RPM
- This technology is particularly effective for drying highly viscous, pasty, or heat-sensitive materials that would be difficult to handle in conventional dryers like ATFDs.
- Continuous agitation renews the surface area, preventing scaling and promoting uniform heat transfer.
- In the ASSD Dryer we handle feed solids from 20% w/w TS to concentrate upto 95% w/w TS based on the nature of effluent and their physical properties.
- The output from this dryer free flowing solids suitable for bagging and
- The ASSD can be performed under vacuum or atmospheric pressure for heat-sensitive or standard products based on the Industrial Application.
Applications :-
- The system is widely used across various industries, including:
- API and Pharmaceutical Plants for Mixer of Salts Drying
- Molasses-Based Distilleries Spent Wash Drying Application
- Chemical and Agro-Chemical Industries
- Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs)
- Landfill Leachate Treatment Facilities
- Dyes & Paint Industries
