Integrated MEE Plant

Proven process technologies for sustainable operations

The Integrated Multiple Effect Evaporation (IMEE) Plant is designed to utilize the available heat sources from within the process plant itself, such as alcohol vapors, flue gas, hot oil, dryer vapors, or hot water. By leveraging these heat inputs along with feed capacity and inlet TDS, the IMEE Plant can concentrate effluent to a range of 20% to 40% solids at the outlet. For further concentration, the partially concentrated stream can be processed in a standalone MEE Plant or a Dryer Plant. This integrated approach enables the achievement of a complete Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system.

Key advantages of IMEE Plant integration include

  • 40–50% reduction in steam consumption compared to conventional MEE systems.
  • Significant reduction in overall operating expenses (OPEX) of the evaporation plant.
  • Optimized use of in-house heat sources, minimizing external utility requirements.
  • This technology has been successfully implemented in Molasses and Grain-Based Distilleries , where we have efficiently utilized Analyzer or Rectifier Column alcohol–water vapors and DDGS Dryer vapors as heat sources.
  • The IMEE Plant thus provides an energy-efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable solution for industrial effluent concentration and ZLD compliance.
